Little Man Expressions - A Happy Morning

Things to Remember - 2 1/2 months old

Baby Cuddles

We have been working on having Little Man take naps in his bed rather than on Momma. For most of his life that has been the only place he will sleep. During the day he doesn't sleep in his car seat, his swing, his stroller, etc. Even if he's sound asleep, he cries as soon as I set him down. Also, he won't just fall asleep on me; he requests that I stand and do deep lunges and rocking until he falls asleep. Then I can carefully sit down. Once he's asleep a good nap is at most usually an hour. After two days of very short naps in his bed, I think he decided he need to take things into his own hands to get some good sleep around here. During play time he asked for his paci which is uncommon. I gave it to him and then sat down on the couch with him to sing some songs. He scooted down on me, put his head on my chest and his arms around me and went to sleep...for over 2 hours! He didn't ask to be rocked like he normally does, just figured he'd better go for it fast. He knew his Momma wouldn't be able to resist his snuggles. I felt a little like he out-smarted me :)

I will note that he is such a good night time sleeper. He sleeps from 9:30pm until 7:30am only waking up once around 3:00am for a quick feeding. We can usually expect him to start stirring in his bed between 7:00am and 7:15am in the morning, and then he waits patiently for us to come get him at 7:30am. He is always full of smiles, loves to kick his feet around and get moving for the day and has lots to talk about with us.

Brave Little Man

Little Man was so brave at his 2 month appointment. He weighs 12 lbs 12 oz and is 23 inches long. The doctor said he looks great and is very healthy! We had a rough evening since he wasn't feeling well after his vaccinations, but he slept well. He was smiling this morning even with a fever. What a brave Little Man!

2 Months Old

Likes:

Sleeping on Momma
Tummy time
Looking in the mirror
Sitting up in our laps (just started at the end of the month)
Chewing on his hand
Cuddling
Mornings
Baths
When people wear glasses
Being bounced
Stretching

Dislikes:

Napping in his crib, swing, stroller, carseat
Loud noises - he startles easily
Being held by too many people
Falling asleep

Big moments:

Took his first car ride - 12 hours from NY to IN
Moved out of his first apartment into his second one
Took his first airplane ride to MN - was SO good on both flights!
Had a night where he only woke up 1 time!
Met his Aunt Heather, Uncle Paul and Cousin Lily
Stayed home with Grandma while Momma and Daddy went out - he cried a lot though!
Took one bottle a day

This month he became so much more alert, smiley and talkative. He is getting so good at tummy time and holding his head high and for long periods of time.

The pictures below are interesting because they were both taken on the day he turned 2 months old. I think they show that he is a good mix of his Momma and Daddy :)
